Merry Christmas from Clement Media

Who can believe that Christmas is just around the corner?  After a hectic few months which saw Clement Media staffers on trips to Australia, Rio and the ski slopes of France, it's now time to settle in for a (hopefully!) white Christmas.

Clement Media ended the year with a fantastic Christmas party - an excellent night out at the West End show 'We Will Rock You' which left everyone in the office singing 'Bicycle' and 'Don't Stop Me Now' on repeat!  Dinner was a fabulous affair at Bertorelli's in Soho and, well, what can be said about the show?  Simply superb and highly recommended to anybody who hasn't seen it!

As the year draws to a close, all of us at Clement Media would like to wish all our candidates and clients a very merry Christmas and a safe and joyous new year.

Q3 wrap up

Well, as the third quarter of the year draws to a close, Clement Media have been looking back to remember what they've been doing these past three months. 

The goal's charts were more successful this quarter than last, with many goals being achieved (Caitlin's French has improved rapidly, thanks to the Michel Thomas language CD's).  Other goals have, sadly, been neglected or fallen by the wayside (that gym membership is still sitting in a drawer somewhere, yet to see the light of day).   

Our Facebook group is now up and running, giving candidates old and new a place to meet and have a chat about media sales.  If you haven't been there already, you can find it by clicking on http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=4439341253.  Lots of our candidates have been checking it out lately!

We also had a lovely day of polo down at the Cowdray estate in Sussex, watching the semi-finals of the Veuve Cliquot Cup.  The games were amazing, the Pimms was just right and if it hadn't been tipping down with rain it would have been a 10/10 day out! 

The football season has got off to a good start this quarter - well, only good if you're an Arsenal fan like Lizzie and not a Tottenham fan like Caitlin!  The Arsenal/Tottenham war rages on in the Clement Media offices (although secretly, Caitlin believes that most of the candidates are on her side!).  The Aussie Rules football season is now drawing to a close.  After a huge build up, Caitlin's team will be playing in the Grand Final on Saturday at 5am!!  Winning the Grand Final is the equivalent of winning the Champion's League in European football, so if the Cats win it will be the perfect end to the quarter. 

More good news for candidates coming in for interviews - these last few months have seen the re-introduction of the kareoke machine!!  So dust off those dancing shoes, put on that white suit and be prepared to do battle on the microphone!!!

Looking back, we've had a fantastic quarter!  We've met some wonderful people, had a great laugh along the way, oh and we've done a bit of work too!!!  Here's hoping the next three months will be just as much fun!

Caitlin's Cats are closer to the Grand Final...

If you're coming into the Clement Media offices over the next few days, better bring some earplugs!  Caitlin can't stop talking about her beloved Geelong Cats, who are one game away from the Aussie Football League's Grand Final! 

Friday will see 'the mighty Cattas' playing Collingwood, the most reviled team in the league who are based just up the road in Melbourne.  If (when!!) they win this, they'll go through to the Grand Final.  Despite many appearances, Geelong haven't won a Grand Final since 1963 and Caitlin thinks it's typical that the year she leaves Oz is the year her team start winning!

Lizzie saves the day in Corfu

Lucy, who used to work at Clement Media, got married in Corfu last week-end, it was the party of the year! Lizzie went out early to help the family with the preparations (read: tried to get a head start on the ushers before Chrissy Totty, another ex-Clement Media consultant, stepped onto the island!)  Anyway, there was a forest fire and Lizzie risked her life dashing through the flames to save the booze wedding dress.

Lizzie, Chrissy and Lucy were the original line up at Clement Media, we had a great time working together, fantastic clients, lovely candidates, lots of deals, laughter, socialising. We loved sharing Lucy and Tom's special day and hanging out with the friends and families - big love to T& L

Marbella belles

Talk about lucky - we've just heard that all our latest candidate to go to the Mirror, Jamie, has been invited to go with the whole team to Marbella for a sales conference in a few weeks!  Jamie was offered the job yesterday, he hasn't even begun work yet and he already has an all expenses paid trip, out of the rain and into the sunshine!

This isn't just a one-off either - we've had candidates going to black tie events at the Dorchester, on boat trips with the team and on team-building treasure hunts all over London, either before they've started or within the first couple of weeks.  That's one of the great things about this industry, there's always a chance to let your hair down and have fun with your colleagues.

Congratulations, Jamie - we hope you enjoy your trip!  And finally, good luck to all our candidates who are at interviews today!

Huge congratulations to our fantastic candidate Laura, who got a job at the Mirror newspaper after the amazing presentation she did for her second interview. 

We're so pleased for Laura, the Mirror is a great company to work for.  All the candidates we place there give us great feedback and tell us how much they love their jobs.

Yes, you read correctly.  Yesterday, our very own Aussie import Caitlin broke into the world of TV, modelling for Simply TV's 'Beautyzone', hosted by make up artist Sarah Jagger.  But according to Caitlin, models don't have it easy.  Apparently, it was hard work being pampered for a whole afternoon!

Chalet girls turn media whizzes...

It's not hard to spot a one-time chalet host in our bi-weekly assesment centres... apart from being well practised at socialising and ripping up the slopes, ex-chalet staff tend to be no strangers to hard graft when working in an industry they love. So, working on the premis that a quality chalet host will have some of the essential qualities for media sales, in April and May 2007, we ran a series of successful end-of-season Media Sales workshops in Val d'Isere.
